Manager's Coffees

Cranberry’s popular Community Coffee series includes plenty of hot java and informal conversation with Cranberry Township Manager Jerry Andree. This casual series of community-based conversations, held monthly at different sites throughout the Township, provides local residents with an opportunity to hear first-hand what Cranberry’s municipal government is thinking about doing, what it’s working on now, what it has recently completed, and to pose their own questions to the Manager.

Venues for the Coffee series in the past have included residential neighborhoods, business locations, and Township facilities.

There is no charge to attend any of the events, and no reservations are required, although RSVPs for planning purposes to 724-776-4806, x 1089 is appreciated.

Cranberry coffee get-together to focus on redevelopment

Why should a community growing as fast as Cranberry be concerned about re-developing?  Local residents who attend an informal picnic lunch on September 19 with Township Manager Jerry Andree will find out.

Even though Cranberry’s residential and commercial development remains strong and ongoing, available land is dwindling, property uses continue to evolve, buildings grow obsolete, houses wear out, the economy keeps shifting, and the pace of investment could decline along with tax revenues.

However, according to local officials, Cranberry is determined to stay in front of those changes.  Its proactive strategy involves crafting a policy of sustainable redevelopment which includes partnerships with private sector leaders, flexible regulations and inducements to encourage the adaptive reuse of existing structures.

Related topics at the interactive get-together will include projects currently in the pipeline, what types of development people would like to see coming into Cranberry, the best uses of undeveloped land, and how Cranberry can remain sustainable.
