[ARCHIVED] Powell Road Bridge reopens

A new Powell Road bridge crossing Brush Creek is now open for business. The bridge, which had been under construction since June, replaced a 75-year old concrete span. The County-owned bridge, which had been weight restricted and scheduled for replacement in 2010 as a result of deterioration, suffered additional damage last fall resulting from a traffic accident which damaged its abutment.

The new bridge includes wider traffic lanes as well as a six-foot walkway linked to the Township’s expanding pedestrian network. With the October 30 opening of the bridge, the temporary traffic signal at Graham School and Rochester Roads was taken out of service.
