Smart Child Center, LLC, a local franchise holder for Kiddie Academy, was given a green light to construct a new facility in Cranberry following a public hearing at the December 11 meeting of Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors. The franchise holder had applied for land development and conditional use approval from the Township to build a new daycare center on a 4-acre lot, abutting I-79, on 1044 North Boundary at the corner of Marshall Road. The single-story, 10,500 square foot brick and masonry building will be essentially identical to one on Swinderman Road in Wexford, which is owned by the same applicant, who is also a Cranberry resident. The design of the building, whose placement would serve as a transition between Marshall Road’s commercial and residential areas, is consistent with the neighborhood’s look and feel. Although no immediate intersection upgrade is planned for the location, the applicant agreed to cede additional right-of-way to the Township for possible future improvements.
