XTO Energy – a subsidiary of ExxonMobil – already has four operations in Pennsylvania. But until now, the headquarters for its Appalachian Division has been scattered across several locations in Marshall Township. The company is the nation’s largest holder of natural gas reserves, and extracting gas from shale and other tight formations is its principal business. To consolidate its local workforce into a single Thorn Hill Industrial Park location, the company has requested permission to expand the building’s parking lot at 190 Thorn Hill Road by 53 spaces. At its January 29 meeting, Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors agreed to consider the company’s application at its meeting on February 5.
