A Survey by the Western Pennsylvania Golf Association using responses from leading golf courses throughout the region has put Cranberry Highlands’ performance at or near the top of its class in a number of important categories, Assistant Township Manager Duane McKee told Cranberry’s Board of Supervisors at its July 30 meeting. With its very high average of more than 30,000 rounds a year and constant green fees, Cranberry Highlands’ revenues per round have managed to grow steadily over the past four years largely due to ancillary activities including events, bar and food service. The facility’s labor costs also compared favorably to others. Accordingly, the Master Plan for the 15-year old golf facility has been revised to include a number of clubhouse updates, driving range enhancements, landscape modifications, environmental improvements, and customer conveniences as well as operational upgrades. The revised plan asked the Board to authorize the use of professional woodland management services in connection with the golf course, which the Board also enacted at the meeting.
