There’s a lot of construction going on in Cranberry
Springs. In addition to new restaurant,hotel, retail and office buildings, excavations for the MSA Thruway – a new
roadway under 228 connecting Cranberry Woods to Cranberry Springs – isgenerating a lot of dirt. What to do
with it all became something of a challenge. The developer’s answer: dump it on a six-acre plot of land adjacent to
the neighboring self-storage hill site and then re-grade it. However, a grading project like that would beso big that it would have to come to the Township’s Board of Supervisors for
land development approval. At its May 3meeting, the Board gave their okay to the earthmoving project.
